Trudi Boatwright is a Playful Experience Designer, theatre maker, and global leader in organizational play, dedicated to helping teams embrace the power of purposeful play. She’s inspired hundreds of individuals and teams to rediscover their playful sides and apply the science of play to drive meaningful change. Trudi’s mission is simple yet profound: to change the world, one playful moment at a time.
Blending experiential learning, applied improvisation and design, Trudi draws on her Master’s of Design Futures and 20 years of experience as an arts practitioner and leadership facilitator. Through her unique approach to playful learning, she helps foster deeper communication and connection within teams and organizations for improved learning and development.
Originally from Australia, Trudi has lived and worked across the globe, including founding the In Company Theatre in London and breaking new ground as the first female actor at the Building Leadership Simulation Centre. There, she designed and performed over 150 training scenarios to develop leadership skills.
As a TEDx speaker, coach, and writer, Trudi collaborates with organizations and government bodies to use play as a powerful tool for problem-solving and leadership development. She’s facilitated experiential learning workshops, keynotes, and activations in diverse environments, equipping hundreds of businesses with playful insights to enhance productivity and engagement.
Alongside her work, Trudi continues to create immersive theatre through her company, TBC Creative, and keeps up with a lively household of kids, cats, dogs, and fish. Driven by a firm belief in the power of play, she’s convinced that playfulness can help solve some of our most challenging problems.
