The Experiential Learning Cycle provides a process map for guiding your engagements and empowering your clients to change long after your coaching engagements end. In addition, by understanding your own learning preferences and those of your clients, you can build better connections and guide clients around the entire process to promote deep learning and development.
Experiential learning is not just a theory of learning; it is also a Theory of Development. This framework promotes key lessons that are deliberately developmental, such as building self-awareness, perspective-taking, Both/And thinking to manage dilemmas; seeking and using feedback; building flexibility and exploring one’s shadow to incorporate unexplored aspects. Experiential learning is a gift that keeps giving everyday of a coach’s — and a coachee’s -- life.
Our Courses for Coaches
The Institute for Experiential Learning provides continuing education for coaches and mentors. We recommend the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile and the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile Certification, for reaching your coaching clients at their level and helping them to grow through transformational experiential learning principles.
Individual Coaching for Professionals
In addition to our programs for coaches, we offer one-to-one and team coaching for leaders, managers, educators and mentors to help them improve their effectiveness and connect with others. We love to be there “when the lights go on” and people recognize the catalytic effect of understanding the learning process and their own approach to using it. Our coaching programs can support you in your personal and professional development as a leader, manager, team leader or professional.
