Our coach­ing pro­grams can sup­port you in your per­son­al and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment as a coach.  In your coach­ing prac­tice - as in your fam­i­ly life and per­son­al life - a bet­ter under­stand­ing of the learn­ing process is the key to becom­ing bet­ter and more effec­tive. The goal of any coach is to first help coachees become capa­ble learn­ers who are self-aware and able to con­tin­u­al­ly improve.

The prin­ci­ples of expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing pro­vide a phi­los­o­phy, frame­work and way of being for coach­es who wish to con­tin­u­al­ly learn and devel­op.  The Expe­ri­en­tial Learn­ing Cycle pro­vides a process map for guid­ing your engage­ments and empow­er­ing your clients to change long after your coach­ing engage­ments end.  In addi­tion, by under­stand­ing your own learn­ing pref­er­ences and those of your clients, you can build bet­ter con­nec­tions and  guide clients around the entire process to pro­mote deep learn­ing and development.

Expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing is not just a the­o­ry of learn­ing; it is also a The­o­ry of Devel­op­ment. This frame­work pro­motes key lessons that are delib­er­ate­ly devel­op­men­tal, such as build­ing self-aware­ness, per­spec­tive-tak­ing, Both/And think­ing to man­age dilem­mas; seek­ing and using feed­back; build­ing flex­i­bil­i­ty and explor­ing one’s shad­ow to incor­po­rate unex­plored aspects.  Expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing is a gift that keeps giv­ing every­day of a coach’s — and a coachee’s -- life.

 

Our Courses for Coaches

The Insti­tute for Expe­ri­en­tial Learn­ing pro­vides con­tin­u­ing edu­ca­tion for coach­es and men­tors. We rec­om­mend the Kolb Expe­ri­en­tial Learn­ing Pro­file and the Kolb Expe­ri­en­tial Learn­ing Pro­file Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, for reach­ing your coach­ing clients at their lev­el and help­ing them to grow through trans­for­ma­tion­al expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing principles.

To take your coach­ing to the next lev­el, we offer Four-Dimen­sion­al Coach­ing,  an IFEL course that intro­duces the prin­ci­ples of expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing for both the coach and the coachee.

 

Individual Coaching for Professionals

In addi­tion to our pro­grams for coach­es, we offer one-to-one and team coach­ing for lead­ers, man­agers, edu­ca­tors and men­tors to help them improve their effec­tive­ness and con­nect with oth­ers.  We love to be there “when the lights go on” and peo­ple rec­og­nize the cat­alyt­ic effect of under­stand­ing the learn­ing process and their own approach to using it.  Our coach­ing pro­grams can sup­port you in your per­son­al and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment as a leader, man­ag­er, team leader or professional.
