Angela Passarelli

Angela Pas­sarel­li is an Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor in the Depart­ment of Man­age­ment & Mar­ket­ing at the Col­lege of Charleston, SC, and an affil­i­ate instruc­tor of Exec­u­tive Edu­ca­tion at Case West­ern Reserve Uni­ver­si­ty. Her research focus­es on how devel­op­men­tal rela­tion­ships sup­port learn­ing, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the con­text of leader devel­op­ment. She draws on neu­ro­science and psy­chophys­i­ol­o­gy to explore the implic­it dynam­ics of these rela­tion­ships. Her research has been sup­port­ed by grants from the Har­nisch Foun­da­tion at the Har­vard Insti­tute of Coach­ing, as well as the Soci­ety for Indus­tri­al-Orga­ni­za­tion­al Psy­chol­o­gy. Her work has been pub­lished in var­i­ous jour­nals includ­ing the Lead­er­ship Quar­ter­ly, Con­sult­ing Psy­chol­o­gy Jour­nal: Prac­tice and ResearchFron­tiers in Psy­chol­o­gy, and the Jour­nal of Expe­ri­en­tial Edu­ca­tion.

Angela has sig­nif­i­cant expe­ri­ence design­ing and deliv­er­ing lead­er­ship devel­op­ment pro­grams in both cor­po­rate and edu­ca­tion­al con­texts. As a con­sul­tant and exec­u­tive coach, she has worked with orga­ni­za­tions in the health­care, finan­cial ser­vices, man­u­fac­tur­ing, and edu­ca­tion indus­tries to increase the vital­i­ty of their lead­er­ship sys­tems. Pri­or to pur­su­ing her doc­tor­ate degree, Angela was respon­si­ble for under­grad­u­ate and grad­u­ate lead­er­ship devel­op­ment pro­grams at Elon Uni­ver­si­ty and Texas A&M Uni­ver­si­ty. Angela began her career as a sales man­ag­er in the food and bev­er­age industry.

Cur­rent­ly, Angela teach­es cours­es and non-degree pro­grams on lead­er­ship, orga­ni­za­tion­al behav­ior, orga­ni­za­tion­al change, and expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing for grad­u­ate, under­grad­u­ate, and exec­u­tive learn­ers. She serves on the Sci­en­tif­ic Advi­so­ry Coun­cil at the Har­vard Insti­tute of Coach­ing and as a research fel­low at the Coach­ing Research Lab at Case West­ern Reserve Uni­ver­si­ty. Her pro­fes­sion­al affil­i­a­tions include the Acad­e­my of Man­age­ment and the Soci­ety for Indus­tri­al-Orga­ni­za­tion­al Psychology.

She holds a Ph.D. in Orga­ni­za­tion­al Behav­ior from Case West­ern Reserve Uni­ver­si­ty, an M.S. degree in Stu­dent Affairs Admin­is­tra­tion in High­er Edu­ca­tion from Texas A&M Uni­ver­si­ty, and a B.S. degree Psy­chol­o­gy and Gen­er­al Busi­ness from James Madi­son University.
