Tamara enjoys connecting people with data-driven stories with everything that she does. She is originally from Cabo Verde and moved to Boston to attend Suffolk University, where she received her BSBA in Global Business/Marketing and an MBA.
Tamara’s experience in higher education covers student services, event planning, research and assessment, and curriculum development and implementation. Currently, Tamara manages the Alumni Volunteer process at MIT Sloan with the Office of External Relations.
Outside of higher ed, she has consulted for various companies and non-profit organizations in adjusting their strategy and marketing. She is also passionate about equity. In 2019, Tamara founded KPA, the first 501©3 professional association in the U.S. for the professional advancement of Cabo Verdean and other women of color.
Tamara is always open to learning and appreciates authenticity and diverse perspectives. Tamara intentionally applies the complex experiential learning theory to her job in higher education, business, consulting work, and non-profit association. She is certified in experiential learning through the Institute for Experiential Learning.
