Tama­ra enjoys con­nect­ing peo­ple with data-dri­ven sto­ries with every­thing that she does. She is orig­i­nal­ly from Cabo Verde and moved to Boston to attend Suf­folk Uni­ver­si­ty, where she received her BSBA in Glob­al Business/Marketing and an MBA.

Tama­ra’s expe­ri­ence in high­er edu­ca­tion cov­ers stu­dent ser­vices, event plan­ning, research and assess­ment, and cur­ricu­lum devel­op­ment and imple­men­ta­tion. Cur­rent­ly, Tama­ra man­ages the Alum­ni Vol­un­teer process at MIT Sloan with the Office of Exter­nal Relations.

Out­side of high­er ed, she has con­sult­ed for var­i­ous com­pa­nies and non-prof­it orga­ni­za­tions in adjust­ing their strat­e­gy and mar­ket­ing. She is also pas­sion­ate about equi­ty. In 2019, Tama­ra found­ed KPA, the first 501©3 pro­fes­sion­al asso­ci­a­tion in the U.S. for the pro­fes­sion­al advance­ment of Cabo Verdean and oth­er women of color.

Tama­ra is always open to learn­ing and appre­ci­ates authen­tic­i­ty and diverse per­spec­tives. Tama­ra inten­tion­al­ly applies the com­plex expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing the­o­ry to her job in high­er edu­ca­tion, busi­ness, con­sult­ing work, and non-prof­it asso­ci­a­tion. She is cer­ti­fied in expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing through the Insti­tute for Expe­ri­en­tial Learning.
